Pakistan introduces first AI-based automated driving test vehicle

Lahore (Web Desk): A groundbreaking transformation has been introduced in Pakistan’s traditional driving test system, as Lahore unveils the first Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based automated driving test vehicle equipped with advanced sensors and cameras.

According to details, the entire driving test will be conducted through an automated system with no human intervention. Inside the vehicle, a facial recognition camera ensures the candidate's identity and attendance.

Four high-tech cameras installed outside the vehicle monitor the candidate’s driving performance throughout the test. Additionally, a biometric machine on the vehicle’s dashboard allows candidates to verify their identity via fingerprint.

The new system also features automated on-screen instructions, providing step-by-step guidance to candidates as soon as they sit in the vehicle, ensuring a smooth and clear testing process.

Experts believe that incorporating this technology will make the driving test more transparent, standardized, and aligned with international standards, while minimizing the risks of human error or bias during the examination.
