No one can revoke provincial rights guaranteed under 18th Amendment: Bilawal

Islamabad (Web Desk): PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Strongly Condemns Recent Terrorist Attacks Across Pakistan

Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks across the country, stating that militants are rising from Islamabad to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He emphasized the need for unity against terrorism and hostile forces, asserting that Pakistan has defeated terrorists before and will do so again.

Bilawal Bhutto called for political and ideological differences to be set aside in the interest of national security, stressing the importance of collective efforts to combat terrorism. He also reiterated that no one has the power to abolish the 18th Amendment, referencing the passage of the 26th Constitutional Amendment through mutual consultation and consensus, which involved multiple political parties.

Regarding the 27th Constitutional Amendment, Bilawal expressed the PPP's willingness to accept it under suitable conditions. He also highlighted the party’s commitment to protecting the rights of provinces and granting local governments more powers. He advocated for giving provinces the authority to collect taxes, promising that the PPP would meet its targets in this regard.

Bilawal Bhutto praised the services of the armed forces, noting that Pakistan's military is admired worldwide, particularly for its success against the Indian government. He also assured the government of the PPP's support on the Article 243 amendment.

On the issue of judicial transfers, Bilawal stated that the Judicial Commission would make decisions, and judges' opinions could also be considered. He thanked the government for ensuring that no judge would be forced into retirement in the future.
