PM Shehbaz invites PPP to form govt in Gilgit-Baltistan

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has extended an invitation to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to form the government in Gilgit-Baltistan, stating that the party deserves the mandate based on its electoral strength.

The prime minister said that PPP has emerged as the largest party in the recent Gilgit-Baltistan elections, and in line with democratic norms and respect for public mandate, it should be given the right to form the government.

He announced that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to sit in the opposition in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly and will fully support PPP in the government formation process.

According to the prime minister, all elected members of PML-N in the assembly will vote for PPP candidates during the selection of the government to ensure respect for the public mandate.

PM Shehbaz emphasized that PML-N has always prioritised democratic values, political stability, and respectful cooperation with coalition partners.

He added that his party has consistently maintained trust and collaboration with allies in difficult times, and this decision is a continuation of that political tradition.
