Islamabad (Staff report): A PIA flight scheduled to take off from Heathrow Airport in London was cancelled due to issues in the plane’s computer.
On Sunday, another PIA flight in Multan escaped narrowly a fatal accident, when one of its engines caught fire on runway.
Local media reported that flames erupted in an ATR airplane, scheduled to land in Karachi.
Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced to suspend its ATR operation.
Temporary suspension of operation will particularly affect the PIA flights to smaller airports like Gwadar, Turbat, Panjgur, Moenjodaro, Zhob, Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Chitral and Gilgit.
Passengers are advised to check status of their flights from PIA Call Center at 111-786-786.
On November 7, flight PK-661 was crashed near Havelian after one of its two turboprop engines reportedly failed while travelling from Chitral to Islamabad, killing 47 people on board.
