Lahore (Web Desk): International Youth Day (IYD) is being observed on today (August 12) across the globe including Pakistan to draw attention towards youth issues.
This year’s theme of International Youth Day is 'youth building peace'.
The day is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and transformation as well as inclusion, social justice, and sustainable peace.
UN General Assembly designated 12 August as International Youth Day in 1999. It is an annual celebration of the role of young women and men as essential partners in change, as well as an opportunity to raise awareness of the challenges and hardships facing the world's youth.
Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said in his message on the occasion that the government has taken revolutionary steps for empowerment and welfare of youth.
