Will Alia Bhatt replace Deepika Padukone in Prabhas's 'Kalki 2898 A.D' sequel?

Mumbai (Web Desk): The chances of actress Alia Bhatt joining the sequel of Prabhas's blockbuster film "Kalki 2898 A.D." have significantly increased.

According to reports, Alia Bhatt is being considered to play the role of Somathi, which was originally portrayed by Deepika Padukone in the first film.

While the filmmakers have not made an official announcement yet, sources suggest that Alia Bhatt is the frontrunner for the role. If confirmed, this will mark Alia's first collaboration with Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin.

The 2024 release of "Kalki 2898 A.D." was a massive box-office success, and director Nag Ashwin has already begun working on the next installment of this sci-fi series.

Sources also indicate that Deepika Padukone, who played the lead role in the first film, will not be part of the sequel. Deepika had previously mentioned in an interview that she only wanted to work for eight hours a day, but the filmmakers stated that such a large-scale production requires full attention and commitment.

Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt is gearing up for her upcoming film "Alpha" with Sharvari Wagh and is also working alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in "Love & War".
