NA Speaker accepts resignation of BNP-M’s Akhtar Mengal 

Islamabad (Web Desk): National Assembly (NA) Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday formally approved the resignation of Akhtar Mengal, the leader of the Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M), bringing his membership of the lower house to an end.

According to an official announcement, Mengal had stepped down from his National Assembly seat in September 2024.

The Speaker’s office has conveyed the development to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which will now initiate the legal procedure required to fill the vacant seat in accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws.
