California (Web Desk): Meta-owned social media platform Instagram has introduced a new feature that will improve the commenting experience for users by allowing them to edit comments after posting.
Under the new feature, if a user makes a mistake in a comment, they will no longer need to delete it. Instead, they will be able to edit the comment directly.
According to the company, users will have a 15-minute window after posting a comment to make edits. Within this time frame, users can edit their comment multiple times without any limitation.
The process is simple. After posting a comment, an “Edit” option will appear below it. By tapping on it, users will be able to modify their comment easily.
When a comment is edited, an “Edited” label will be visible to others. However, users will not be able to view the edit history.
The company also clarified that if a comment contains both text and an image, only the text will be editable.
The feature will also be available for comments on Instagram posts as well as reels.
