Islamabad (Web Desk): The 35th death anniversary of Pakistan is remembering renowned Pakistani wrestler Muhammad Zubair, famously known as ‘Jhara Pehlwan’, is being observed today (Thursday).
Jhara stepped into international wrestling at the remarkably young age of 16. He later earned widespread fame after securing a notable victory against Japanese wrestler Inoki in 1979.
Among Pakistan’s prominent wrestling figures, Jhara enjoyed an extraordinary unbeaten run, remaining undefeated across more than 60 bouts held at both domestic and international levels.
His achievements in the sport also earned him the distinguished titles of Fakhar-e-Pakistan and Rustam-e-Pakistan.
Jhara Pehlwan passed away when he was only 31 years old. He was subsequently laid to rest at Bhola wrestler’s wrestling ring on Mohni Road in Lahore.
