Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Secretary General Asad Umar has been arrested from the Islamabad High Court's (IHC) premises.
As per the details, the PTI leader has been arrested by the anti-terrorist squad.
The law enforcers picked up the former federal minister from outside the IHC Bar Room where he and other PTI leaders were preparing a plea to be filed file in the IHC seeking a meeting with party chief Imran Khan.
Asad Umar was booked in two cases registered against him and other PTI leaders following the protests that ensued after Imran Khan's arrest. The cases were registered in Islamabad's Tarnol and Aabpara police stations.
On Tuesday, PTI chairman and former premier Imran Khan was arrested in the Al-Qadir Trust case from the premises of the IHC, where he was present for two hearings.
Following Khans' arrest, PTI workers staged violent protests in several cities. Police arrested hundreds of party workers and several leaders, including PTI Sindh leader Ali Zaidi, Asad Umar former Punjab governor Omar Sarfaraz Cheema.
Cheema was arrested during the wee hours of Wednesday morning in a raid at his house by the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab.
