Pakistan remains commitment to peace, yet equally unwavering in defending its sovereignty: PM Shehbaz

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has stated that Marka-e-Haq is a day of expressing deep gratitude to Allah Almighty for His countless blessings upon Pakistan.

In his message on the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, he said the nation is observing this day to recall Pakistan’s courageous response in a time of difficulty and the decisive setback it delivered to its adversary.

He added that the entire nation honours its martyrs, their families, and the ghazis who stood firm like an unbreakable wall in defence of the country. He highlighted that the coordinated and unified performance of the armed forces across land, sea, air, and cyber domains demonstrated Pakistan’s strength and resilience.

The Prime Minister said Marka-e-Haq stands as proof that Pakistan is a peace-seeking nation but at the same time courageous, dignified, and unyielding against any form of aggression.

He remarked that the event has been permanently recorded in history as a remarkable moment in which Pakistan established clear dominance over an enemy that had acted with unprovoked hostility. According to him, the opponent was forced to confront reality, shattering its assumptions of superiority.

Paying tribute, he praised the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, acknowledging his bold and decisive command during challenging times. He also appreciated the services of Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Admiral Naveed Ashraf for their strategic clarity and professional leadership.

He said Pakistan has consistently shown its commitment to peace while simultaneously reinforcing deterrence and protecting its sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.

The Prime Minister made it clear that any attempt to threaten or attack Pakistan would be met with a swift, proportional, and comprehensive response. He further said that the country remains fully alert in safeguarding its borders and is committed to eliminating “Fitna al-Khawarij” and “Fitna al-Hindustan” to ensure the complete eradication of terrorism.

Referring to regional issues, he said no discussion about Pakistan is complete without mentioning Kashmir, which remains an unresolved agenda of partition.

He stressed that lasting peace in South Asia is not possible without resolving the Kashmir dispute in line with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. Pakistan, he reaffirmed, will continue its moral, diplomatic, and political support for the right to self-determination of Kashmiris.

He also said Pakistan today is recognized globally as a responsible state that not only defends itself effectively but also contributes to international peace efforts. He pointed to Pakistan’s role in facilitating dialogue during the ongoing US-Iran tensions and its efforts to reduce conflict and promote stability.

In a post shared on his X account, the Prime Minister said Marka-e-Haq will always be remembered as a powerful symbol of national unity, resilience, and determination to defend the country at all costs.

He noted that as the nation celebrates the success of Marka-e-Haq and “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos,” it collectively thanks Allah Almighty and pays tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and its people.

He said that in the face of aggression, Pakistan remained united, disciplined, and firm in belief. He added that “Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos” reflected the exceptional professionalism and operational strength of the armed forces, which under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir defended the country’s sovereignty with precision, courage, and resolve, inspiring the entire nation at a critical moment.

He concluded by saying that the nation salutes all soldiers, officers, martyrs, and veterans whose sacrifices continue to strengthen Pakistan’s security and freedom.

He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains committed to peace but will never compromise on its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national honour under any circumstances.
