LEAs arrest five suspects in successful Muzaffarabad IBO

Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): The Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Tuesday arrested five suspects in a successful intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the Chehla area of Muzaffarabad.

According to security sources, several electronic devices were recovered during the raid, including laptops, mobile phones, and communication equipment.

Investigators stated that disclosures made by one of the detained suspects during questioning enabled authorities to trace and recover a sizeable stockpile of weapons.

The cache included seven automatic firearms, a number of grenades, and other military-related equipment.

The security sources added that the operation also resulted in the confiscation of maps marking sensitive sites, purported plans targeting key locations, and documents linked to highly secured installations.

Early findings from the investigation have allegedly revealed communication links with hostile foreign intelligence entities. Officials noted that forensic examinations and technical assessments of the recovered electronic equipment and documents are continuing to establish the full extent of the network's activities.

Authorities are now broadening the investigation to identify additional individuals who may have assisted the group, as well as any financiers or support structures connected to the alleged operation.
Security officials maintained that the timely action helped prevent a possible threat against critical infrastructure and ensured the safety of the public.

Reaffirming their resolve to protect national interests, authorities stressed that there would be no leniency for individuals or organizations involved in activities that undermine state security, public peace, or national stability.

Meanwhile, investigators continue to pursue all available leads and have urged citizens to remain vigilant and promptly inform relevant authorities of any suspicious movements or activities in their surroundings.
