Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to be laid to rest in Mashhad today as arrangements completed

Mashhad (Web Desk): Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is set to be laid to rest in the holy city of Mashhad on Thursday, with authorities saying all arrangements for the burial have been finalized.

According to officials, Khamenei's body was transferred from Iraq to Iran after funeral processions in the Iraqi city of Karbala, where thousands of mourners gathered to pay their final respects.

Following the ceremonies in Iraq, the body was brought back to Iran for burial in Mashhad.

Authorities said extensive security and administrative measures have been put in place to ensure the funeral and burial proceedings are carried out smoothly.
