Workers' remittances rise 10.6% to $19.7 billion in first half of FY26: SBP

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s overseas workers sent home significantly more money during the first half of the current fiscal year, with remittances reaching $19.7 billion, the State Bank of Pakistan reported on Friday. This marks a 10.6 percent increase over the $17.8 billion received between July and December 2024-25.

In December 2025 alone, the inflow of remittances rose 16.5 percent compared to the same month last year, totaling $3.6 billion. On a month-to-month comparison, funds sent by overseas Pakistanis jumped by 12.6 percent.

The largest contributions in December came from Saudi Arabia, which sent $813.1 million, followed by the United Arab Emirates with $726.1 million.

The United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US) contributed $559.7 million and $301.7 million, respectively.
