Xi Jinping reaffirms China’s 'Unwavering' support for North Korea's Kim Jong Un during Pyongyang visit

Beijing/Pyongyang (Web Desk): Chinese President Xi Jinping has reaffirmed China’s “unwavering” support for North Korea and its leader Kim Jong Un during his visit to Pyongyang, according to Chinese media.

Xi Jinping, accompanied by First Lady Peng Liyuan, arrived in North Korea for his first visit since 2019, where he was welcomed at Pyongyang International Airport by Kim Jong Un and his wife Ri Sol Ju.

During his two-day state visit, Xi met Kim Jong Un and emphasized that the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government remain committed to strengthening the traditional friendship between China and North Korea.

According to the official Chinese news agency Xinhua, Xi stressed the need to deepen cooperation and exchanges between the two countries across multiple sectors, including foreign policy coordination, law enforcement, and defense cooperation.

He further called for enhanced high-level engagement and broader collaboration at all levels to strengthen bilateral ties.

The visit marks Xi Jinping’s first foreign trip of the year and comes shortly after his recent meetings in Beijing with US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, highlighting China’s active diplomatic engagements with major global powers.
