Punjab schools to remain closed until August 24

Lahore: Punjab Education Minister Ranasikandar Hayat has clarified that all educational institutions across the province will remain closed until August 24, with no permission granted to reopen schools before the scheduled date.

According to the provincial education minister, one-month learning camps were allowed to help students make up for their academic losses.

However, the purpose of these camps was not to begin the new academic year but to compensate for the learning gaps faced by students.

Ranasikandar Hayat said reports circulating about the resumption of regular classes before August 24 were baseless.

He directed school administrations to strictly comply with government instructions and ensure that students are given the full summer vacation period.

He further instructed school owners and administrations to follow the official schedule and refrain from starting regular academic activities before the announced reopening date.

The Punjab government has also urged parents and students not to pay attention to unverified reports regarding the reopening of schools. It advised them to rely only on official government announcements and the notified schedule.
