PM Shehbaz returns home after Saudi Arabia visit

Lahore (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived back in Pakistan on Saturday afternoon after wrapping up his official visit to Saudi Arabia.

A key development during the visit was the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Turkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The agreement seeks to broaden defence collaboration between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye while giving further strength to the close and historic ties between the three nations.

The new pact is expected to add greater depth to defence relations among the three countries and create further opportunities for cooperation, while also reinforcing their longstanding bonds of brotherhood and friendship.

During his stay in Saudi Arabia, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also performed Umrah. He later travelled to Madinah Munawarah, where he visited the Prophet’s Mosque and paid his respects at Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH).
