2nd total Lunar Eclipse of the year to light up the skies tonight, visible from Pakistan and beyond

Islamabad (Web Desk):  The night sky will showcase a stunning celestial event tonight as the second total lunar eclipse of the year becomes visible across Pakistan and several other parts of the world.

As per the Meteorological Department, the eclipse will begin with a subtle dimming of the moon at 8:28 PM (local time) on September 7. The partial eclipse will follow at 9:27 PM, while the total lunar eclipse is expected to start at 10:31 PM, reaching its peak visibility at 11:12 PM.

The eclipse will gradually begin to fade after midnight, with the partial phase ending at 12:57 AM, and the entire event concluding by 1:55 AM on September 8.

This lunar phenomenon will be visible across Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa, as well as parts of North America’s western regions and eastern South America. It can also be observed over large oceanic regions including the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, in addition to the Arctic and Antarctica.

Skywatchers and astronomy lovers are in for a treat — provided clear skies — as the Earth casts its shadow over the moon in what promises to be a memorable astronomical display.
