Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday inaugurated a mobile unit in Islamabad to facilitate the people in getting information and loans for the low-cost housing projects.
The mobile unit, in partnership with National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and Naya Pakistan Housing Authority, will serve as a one window for the loans being provided under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme, the Radio Pakistan reported.
Initially, the mobile unit will provide services in Rawalpindi, Islamabad and adjacent areas and later the scheme will be expanded across the country.
The initiative will also help reduce burden on the banks during COVID-19 situation.
Appreciating the mobile unit initiative taken by the NBP, PM Imran said ensuring shelter and accommodation for the people was the top priority of his government.
He urged the banks to simplify the loan procedures for houses with the aim to ensure facilitation to the low-income groups so that they could own houses.
