Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security Forces killed 10 Khwarij belonging to Indian-sponsored Fitna-Al-Khwarij in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province (KP), the military’s media wing said Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of Khwarij belonging to Indian Proxy, Fitna Al Khwarij attempted to attack Security Forces Check Posts in general area Azam Warsak, South Waziristan District.
The attempt was effectively thwarted by own troops. During ensuing fire exchange, eight khwarij were sent to hell through effective and precise engagements by own troops.
In another encounter that took place in Dir District, own troops successfully neutralized two more khwarij.
The military’s media wing said that weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed Indian sponsored khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in the area.
“Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area, as relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm e Istehkam” (as approved by Federal Apex Committee on National Action Plan) by Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday lauded the security personnel for successfully eliminating 10 Indian-backed militants belonging to Fitna-al-Khawarij during operations in South Waziristan and Dir.
In separate statements, the president and the premier expressed their appreciation for the armed forces and law enforcement agencies for their continued sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
They said the people of Pakistan remained firmly behind the security forces and took pride in their services, while reaffirming that every attempt by Indian-sponsored terrorist groups to destabilise the country would be defeated.
President Zardari commended the security forces for their professionalism and effective response in foiling a terrorist assault in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan.
He said the nation remained united with the personnel fighting terrorism and held their sacrifices for the protection of the country in the highest regard.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is presently in Saudi Arabia on a three-day visit, also applauded the security forces for carrying out the successful operation.
He said the courage, dedication and professional capabilities demonstrated by the armed forces were a source of immense pride for the entire nation.
The prime minister stressed that counterterrorism operations being conducted under Operation Azm-e-Istehkam would proceed with determination until the threat of terrorism was fully eliminated from Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz reiterated that the government and the people would continue to stand alongside the security forces and support them wholeheartedly in their ongoing battle against terrorism.
