President Zardari, PM Shehbaz express deep grief over martyrdom of Group Captain Asim Tariq

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have expressed deep grief and sorrow sorrow over the martyrdom of Group Captain Asim Tariq, honouring his courage and extending their deepest sympathies to his grieving family.

In separate statements, both leaders offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family of the fallen Pakistan Air Force officer.

President Zardari described Group Captain Asim Tariq's ultimate sacrifice while protecting an innocent woman as a shining reflection of compassion, bravery and commitment to the nation.

He prayed that Allah grants the bereaved family patience and strength to endure their immense loss.

The president also termed the incident, which occurred on one of Islamabad's main thoroughfares, deeply alarming. He stressed the need for decisive measures to eliminate such criminal acts and ensure the safety and security of citizens.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the martyred officer, expressing profound grief over the loss of a brave serviceman who embraced martyrdom while defending the life and dignity of a woman.

He said Group Captain Asim Tariq displayed extraordinary valour, selflessness and an unwavering sense of duty by sacrificing his own life to protect another.

The prime minister remarked that the nation would always honour and remember the courage and sacrifices of such devoted sons of Pakistan.

Extending his condolences to the bereaved family, the prime minister said the entire nation stands beside them during this difficult period and shares in their sorrow.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the martyr the highest ranks in Jannah, envelops him in His infinite mercy, and blesses the family with fortitude and perseverance to bear this irreparable loss.

Prime Minister Shehbaz also instructed the relevant authorities to carry out a comprehensive and impartial investigation into the incident, directing them to ensure that those responsible are identified, brought before the law and punished in accordance with the country's legal framework.
