Chinese navy conducts test launch of strategic missile by submarine

Beijing (Web Desk): The Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy on Monday announced the successful launch of a strategic missile from one of its submarines during a routine military exercise.

According to the navy, a strategic nuclear-powered submarine fired the missile, equipped with a dummy warhead, at 12:01pm toward a designated area in the high seas of the Pacific Ocean.

The missile reportedly struck its intended target zone with precision, landing within the pre-assigned waters.

Chinese naval authorities said the launch formed part of the PLA Navy’s regular annual training programme and noted that countries likely to be affected had been informed in advance of the exercise.

The navy further stated that the missile test was carried out in line with international law and accepted global practices, emphasizing that the operation was not intended to threaten or target any particular nation or objective.
