PM Shehbaz, CDF Asim Munir to undertake Saudi Arabia visit from August 6 to 8 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir will embark on a three-day official trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia beginning today, with his visit scheduled to conclude on August 8.

The visit is aimed at holding high-level discussions with the Saudi leadership on strengthening bilateral cooperation and reviewing the latest regional developments.

Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi, during the weekly press briefing, stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar will accompany the prime minister. Dar is already in the Kingdom after wrapping up an official visit to Jordan.

During the visit, PM Shehbaz will hold talks with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

The meeting will focus on enhancing the long-standing partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia while also covering regional and international issues that are of common concern to both countries.

The visit underscores the enduring relationship between Islamabad and Riyadh, a partnership that has been built over decades on mutual confidence, close cooperation, and deep-rooted fraternal ties.

“Although the visit comes at a time of rising tensions across the Gulf region, it is expected to extend beyond addressing immediate challenges. It will further strengthen bilateral relations, deepen strategic cooperation, enhance coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, and reinforce multilateral cooperation,” the FO said.
