President Zardari emphasises boosting trade, economic ties with Oman 

Islamabad (Web Desk): President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Oman, placing a strong emphasis on expanding collaboration in key sectors such as information technology, construction, healthcare, food security and energy.

The president said this during a meeting with Oman's Ambassador to Pakistan, Fahad Sulaiman Khalaf Alkharusi at Aiwan-e-Sadr (presidency) in Islamabad on Wednesday.

The discussion centered around exploring new avenues to boost bilateral cooperation and deepen the long-standing ties between the two countries.

President Zardari noted that Pakistan and Oman enjoy a warm and brotherly relationship rooted in shared religious, cultural, and traditional values.

He expressed confidence that increased engagement between the leadership of both nations would lead to even stronger mutual ties.

Focusing on economic opportunities, the president underscored Pakistan’s interest in enhancing trade and attracting investment in various sectors.

He highlighted the significance of direct government-to-government contact as a catalyst for encouraging active participation from private businesses in both countries.

Such collaboration, he said, would be instrumental in elevating the volume of trade and investment.

President Zardari also extended his gratitude to the Government of Oman for backing Pakistan’s candidature for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the 2025–2026 term.

President Zardari also appreciated Oman for hosting over 400,000 members of the Pakistani diaspora, who not only contribute to Oman’s development but also act as a vital bridge of friendship between the two brotherly countries.
