Iran condemns Trump's remarks as ‘War Crime’, urges urgent global intervention

New York / Washington (Web Desk): The world appears to be on the brink of a devastating conflict after U.S. President Donald Trump reportedly threatened to target Iran’s civilian infrastructure.

Reacting strongly to the remarks, Iran’s mission to the United Nations condemned the statements, calling them a serious violation of international law and labeling them a “war crime.”

In an emergency statement, Iran’s permanent mission to the UN urged the international community to take immediate notice.

The statement emphasized that threatening to target civilian infrastructure, including power plants and bridges, violates international humanitarian law and constitutes a direct war crime.

The Iranian mission said that if global institutions truly had a conscience, they would not remain silent over what it described as “brutal and uncivilized threats” made by the U.S. president.

Tehran also warned the UN and world powers to act quickly, stating: “Take action today, or tomorrow it may be too late.” It urged the international community to intervene immediately to prevent escalation.

Meanwhile, a press conference expected at 10 p.m. by President Trump alongside military leadership has raised concerns around the world.
