Ottawa (Web Desk): Canada has issued a fresh warning to its citizens, advising them against travelling to Afghanistan because of the country’s volatile and highly dangerous security conditions.
Through its latest travel advisory, the Canadian government called on Canadians already in Afghanistan to consider relocating to areas where they can be better protected and to reassess their existing security measures.
The advisory pointed to significant threats, including kidnapping, terrorism and arbitrary detention under the Taliban authorities.
It also cautioned that militant attacks could take place at any location across Afghanistan, including the capital city, Kabul.
Canadian authorities said terrorist organisations continue to operate inside the country and may pose a threat to foreign nationals, journalists and other civilians.
