Lahore (Staff Report): The World Environment Day is being observed today (Monday) across the globe to create awareness among people for protecting natural resources, including the wildlife and forest.
Theme of the day this year (2017) is 'connecting people to nature'.
Prime Minister Mohammad Nawaz Sharif said in his message on the World Environment Day Pakistan stands committed to collaborate in global efforts to protect the environment.
The premier also stated that Pakistan has already ratified the ‘Paris Agreement’ in this regard. Government has ensured that our industrial, infrastructural and associated developmental initiatives are environment-friendly.
In his message on World Environment Day, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said the purpose of observing the day is not only to create awareness among the public regarding climate change but also to reiterate the commitment that we will provide our coming generations with a clean and tidy natural environment.
