Prince Charles declares Rahat Fateh Ali Khan as new ambassador of charity

London (Web Desk): At the trust's fourth annual dinner at the Guildhall British Prince Charles has selected Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan ambassador of the British Asian Trust.

The President of the trust, the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles, made the announcement. Above 450 ambassadors and supporters of the association, including the Duchess of Cornwall, gathered at the event and helped raise £850,000 to maintain the trust and its projects in South Asia. The trust runs many projects in South Asian countries.

Renowned Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali performed before the audience and won admiration. The celebrity producer Naughty Boy joined him on stage for performance.

The singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan said: "I am delighted that the Prince of Wales selected me to work closely with the British Asian Trust as an ambassador to support their work in change lives across South Asia."

Amid its many projects, the trust's project 'Give a Girl a Future' has helped 50,000 women and girls in Pakistan to develop their skills.

Many other famous guests who attended the event included award-winning film director Gurinder Chadha, tennis player Boris Becker, and TV stars Nitin Ganatra and Preeya Kalidas.

Currently, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has enhanced his profile progressively at global level. He has performed at the UN to a popular audience. Recently, he won award at the Oxford University.

Earlier to that, Rahat was the headline performer at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. He received a lifetime achievement award in London.

For Rahat’s rise at the world stage, the credit goes to his producer and management lead Salman Ahmed who has worked hard and highly professionally to ensure that the talented singer makes it to the international stage as per requirements of the latest PR techniques used by the western celebrities.
