Pakistan, ADB sign agreements for 3 major development projects

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed agreements for three key development projects aimed at improving the country's infrastructure, public transport, and water resources sectors.

The agreements include $10 million in Project Readiness Financing for the ML-1 Karachi-Rohri section, $3.8 million in financing for the Quetta Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system, and an additional $48 million in financing for the Balochistan Water Resources Development project.

The agreements were signed by Secretary of Economic Affairs Mohammad Karim and Secretary of Railways Mazhar Ali Shah, while ADB’s Country Director Emma Fynn confirmed the deals.

The Secretary of Economic Affairs expressed gratitude to ADB for its cooperation, stating that the support is vital for Pakistan's development.

Emma Fynn commended the government of Pakistan’s commitment and assured that ADB will continue to collaborate with Pakistan. She emphasized that these projects will lead to significant improvements in the country's infrastructure, water resource management, and urban transport systems.

These agreements are seen as a major step towards ensuring transparency, financial stability, and sustainable development in Pakistan’s development sector.
