Pakistan beat West Indies by 8 wickets in second Test

Spain (Web Desk): Pakistan defeated the West Indies by eight wickets in the second Test match to level the two-match series 1-1.

Playing at Port of Spain, the West Indies resumed their second innings on the fourth day with 103 runs on the board for the loss of six wickets. However, Pakistan’s spin attack quickly wrapped up the hosts’ innings as they managed to add only 14 more runs before being bowled out for 117.

West Indies opener Brandon King did not come out to bat due to a back injury, further weakening the team’s batting effort.

Pakistan’s spinners played a key role in the victory, with Sajid Khan and Ali Usman taking four wickets each to dismantle the West Indian batting lineup.

Chasing a target of 75 runs, Pakistan comfortably reached the required total after losing just two wickets.

Imam-ul-Haq scored 9 runs while Azan Awais contributed 18 before being dismissed. Abdullah Shafique and captain Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 24 runs each to guide Pakistan to a convincing win.

The victory ended Pakistan’s streak of eight consecutive Test defeats away from home. The national team had last secured an overseas Test victory in 2023 against Sri Lanka.

With this result, the two-Test series between Pakistan and the West Indies concluded in a 1-1 draw.
