Karachi (Web Desk): The 23rd death anniversary of renowned Qawwal Ghulam Farid Sabri is being observed today (Wednesday).

Ghulam Farid Sabri along with his brother Maqbool Sabri were known as the Sabri Brothers and earned much praise in Qawwali.
His first public performance was at the annual Urs festival of the Sufi saint Mubarak Shah in Kalyana in 1946.
The Sabri Brothers are considered the first exponents of qawwali music to the West.
Mera Koi Nahin Hai Tere Siwa, Bhardo Jholi Meri Ya Muhammad and Taajdar-e-Haram, are some of their most acclaimed qawwalis.
