Nation's progress hinges on good governance, principled leadership and responsible youth: Prof. Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman

Faisalabad (Web Desk): Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rahman, Chairman of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP) has said that good governance, principled leadership and responsible youth are required for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

He was addressing a seminar "Pakistan 2030: Challenges, Imkanaat aur Nai Rahein" (Challenges, Possibilities and the Way Forward), organized by APSUP at The University of Faisalabad where education, character building and youth development came under detailed discussion.

The APSUP Chairman said that the event was dedicated to the country’s prominent educationist Mian Amer Mahmood, who has given Pakistan more than 400 colleges and three major universities, calling them a valuable national asset.

He stressed that society must learn to recognize its true heroes, noting that individuals like Mian Amer Mahmood, who established institutions and provided vision, deserve this honour rather than film stars.

Quoting APSUP’s research, Professor Dr. Chaudhry Abdul Rehman stated that the most significant shortcoming among Pakistani youth is not a lack of skills but deficiencies in character and behavior.

He pointed out that many young people neglect punctuality, show little sense of responsibility, and lack self-control, which he said demands serious corrective efforts.

The APSUP chief highlighted the need to instill honesty, integrity, truthfulness, and respect for others in the new generation, adding that real change comes from self-improvement rather than criticism of others. According to him, strong character naturally earns admiration and influence.

Dr. Abdul Rehman reminded the audience that “we belong to the Ummah of Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) who brought about a great moral, social, and educational revolution.”

He said APSUP’s mission is to build faith in God, cultivate responsibility, and instill confidence in youth so they can guide Pakistan toward prosperity.

The APSUP Chairman emphasized that the country urgently requires good governance, principled leadership, and responsible youth, asserting that by following the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH), personal, social, and national progress can be assured.
