One Constitution Avenue scandal: Interior Minister Naqvi signals wider probe against those named in case

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has termed the Islamabad-based project “One Constitution Avenue” as the biggest financial scandal in the country’s history, alleging that it was illegally sold.

He stated that the rule of law will be ensured at all costs and no interference or leniency will be tolerated in the matter.

Highlighting the seriousness of the case, the interior minister claimed that influential segments of society are involved in the alleged scandal.

According to him, politicians, bureaucrats, judges, and bankers are all among those linked to the issue.

He further said that a committee has been formed to investigate the matter in detail, and the government will present its clear stance before it.

Mohsin Naqvi also rejected the perception of separate laws for the rich and the poor, stating that the law is equal for everyone.

He emphasized that there will be no discrimination and justice will prevail in all circumstances.

Following his statement, discussions have intensified in various circles of the capital, while analysts believe that taking action against such a wide network of influential individuals could pose a major challenge for the government.

However, his strong remarks indicate that the scope of accountability may be significantly expanded.
