Iran says Washington has responded to Tehran's 14-point proposal through Pakistan

Tehran/Islamabad  (Web Desk): Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to ease regional tensions appear to be making progress, as the United States has formally conveyed its response to Iran’s 14-point peace proposal through Islamabad, according to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei confirmed during a media briefing that Tehran had received the American response and that experts were currently reviewing the contents in detail.

He stated that Iran’s 14-point proposal is primarily focused on ending ongoing conflicts in the region and establishing long-term peace and stability.

Baghaei further clarified that the current discussions and proposals are not related to Iran’s nuclear programme or nuclear negotiations. Instead, the immediate priority is to reduce tensions and bring an end to regional conflicts.

Diplomatic sources said Pakistan is presently acting as a key communication bridge between Tehran and Washington due to the absence of direct contact between the two sides.

The transfer of the US response through Islamabad is being viewed as a sign of confidence by both countries in Pakistan’s mediation role.
