Ankara / Washington (Web Desk): Turkey has strongly reacted to US intentions regarding regime change in Iran, warning that any such attempt could turn into a “nightmare” for the entire region.
Turkey’s Foreign Minister addressed Washington directly, emphasizing that military targets and political system changes are separate matters. He cautioned that conflating the two could lead to consequences beyond anyone’s control.
The minister stated that if the US intends to take action, it should strictly target military objectives. However, any attempt to overthrow the Iranian government or pursue “regime change” would pose a serious threat to stability across the Middle East.
Turkish officials further warned that political instability in a country like Iran could create a power vacuum, triggering a crisis that could extend beyond the region. They stressed that efforts to alter Iran’s political system could ignite a scenario uncontrollable even by global powers.
Analysts note that Turkey’s statement comes amid rising tensions in the Middle East and signals that Washington should consider the broader regional consequences, as intervention in Iran could destabilize neighboring countries and threaten international peace.
