Renowned folk singer Allan Faqir remembered on death anniversary

Born in 1932 in Sindh’s Jamshoro district, Allan Faqir spent his early years in modest surroundings before embarking on a remarkable musical journey that would establish him as one of Pakistan’s most iconic folk and Sufi performers.

He earned widespread acclaim for his unmistakable singing style, emotionally charged performances and signature Sufi-inspired dance routines, which became a defining feature of his stage presence.
