Armed Forces ready to assist NDMA in relief operations: Field Marshal

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that the Armed Forces of Pakistan are fully prepared to assist the civil administration and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in relief, rescue and rehabilitation activities.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief made these remarks during his visit to the National Emergencies Operation Centre (NEOC) at the NDMA Headquarters in Islamabad.

During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir was briefed on Pakistan’s disaster preparedness measures and coordinated response strategy for the ongoing monsoon season.

NDMA Chairman briefed the Field Marshal about the operational capabilities of the National Emergencies Operation Centre and its technology-based response mechanisms, including “Disaster Lens 2026,” which provides monitoring of the current monsoon situation and tracks multiple disaster risks.

Field Marshal Asim Munir appreciated NDMA’s efforts to enhance Pakistan’s national disaster management capabilities and improve preparedness against emergencies.

He stressed the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness, strengthening coordination among relevant institutions and ensuring a rapid response mechanism to protect human lives and safeguard critical infrastructure during disasters.
