AJK election process moves forward with polling in LA-27 and LA-28

Muzaffarabad (Web Desk): Polling is underway in constituencies LA-27 and LA-28 of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly, where candidates of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are locked in a closely fought contest.

The voting is taking place after the first two phases of the AJK elections, in which the PML-N secured a commanding lead by winning 23 of the 45 seats in the Legislative Assembly, giving the party a simple majority.

Polling in both constituencies is continuing under stringent security arrangements, while voters are steadily turning out to exercise their democratic right.
