Pakistani rupee gains slightly as dollar eases at week's close

Karachi (Web Desk) : The Pakistani rupee posted a slight gain against the US dollar in the interbank market at the close of the business week, as the greenback recorded a marginal decline.

According to the latest figures released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the US dollar fell by 3 paisas to settle at Rs278.12 at the close of trading.

Economic analysts said daily fluctuations in the exchange rate are influenced by several factors, including the country's foreign exchange reserves, workers' remittances, import and export activity, and the overall demand and supply of dollars in the market.

They added that if Pakistan's economic stability continues, foreign exchange reserves improve, and inflows from foreign investment and external financing remain steady, the rupee could strengthen further in the coming days.

Meanwhile, investors and the business community are closely monitoring developments in the currency market ahead of next week, as global economic trends, import requirements, and other key economic indicators are expected to continue influencing the value of both the rupee and the US dollar.
