NDMA warns of severe flooding in Peshawar's Budhni nullah, local admin urges citizens to follow directions 

Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) of The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) ON Tuesday reported that Budhni nullah is experiencing a high-level flood, with the water discharge at Darmangi recorded at 16,142 cusecs.

In light of the situation, authorities have urged residents in the affected areas to strictly adhere to all safety directives issued by the local administration.

According to the NDMA, the areas of Warsak Road, Darmangi, and Regi Lalma have been classified as high-risk residential zones, facing a serious threat of flooding. The potential for significant inundation in these locations has raised concern among emergency response teams.

Rescue units and local officials are maintaining heightened vigilance as they continue to monitor the developing situation closely.

Residents living in low-lying zones have been strongly encouraged to take all necessary precautions.

The NDMA has specifically advised the public to avoid crossing water channels, stay away from roads that are submerged, and maintain a safe distance from electrical infrastructure.

Authorities have reiterated the critical importance of following all issued safety instructions to reduce risk and protect lives.

Separately, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an initial report highlighting the impact of recent rains and urban flooding in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the report released on Tuesday, four individuals have lost their lives while four others were injured in separate incidents across the province. Among those who died are three men and one child, whereas the injured include three children and one woman.

These incidents were reported from the districts of Khyber, Buner, and Tank. The PDMA also noted that two houses suffered partial damage as a result of the rainfall and flooding.

Since August 15, rain-related incidents across the province have claimed a total of 415 lives and left 135 people injured. In addition, a total of 2,562 houses have been reported as damaged during this period.

Relief operations and damage assessments are ongoing as authorities continue to respond to the situation.

Separately, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released an initial report on the damages caused by recent rains and urban flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to PDMA on Tuesday, four people have lost their lives and four others were injured in separate incidents across the province. Among the deceased are three men and one child, while the injured include three children and one woman.

These incidents occurred in the districts of Khyber, Buner, and Tank.

The report further stated that two houses were partially damaged due to the rains and flooding.

Since August 15, a total of 415 people have died and 135 have been injured in rain-related incidents across the province. Overall, 2,562 houses have been damaged.
