Tehran (Web Desk): Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has died from wounds she suffered in the same US–Israeli air strrike that earlier martyred her husband, according to Iranian state media reports.
Iranian news outlets said she had been gravely injured in the coordinated attack and later succumbed to those injuries.
Iranian authorities announced that the 86‑year‑old Khamenei was martyred early on Sunday in a series of strikes carried out by American and Israeli forces.
State‑run Fars news agency reported that several of the Supreme Leader’s relatives — including his son, daughter, son‑in‑law, daughter‑in‑law and a grandson — were also among those martyred in the bombardment.
Khamenei was the most influential political and religious figure in Iran for decades, shaping the clerical structure of the state and extending Iran’s influence across the region.
His time in power was also marked by deepening hostilities with both the United States (US) and Israel, especially over Tehran’s nuclear programme, which remained a focal point of international concern.
