4-hour public service drive: Interior Minister Naqvi inspects four key projects in Islamabad 

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi spent nearly four hours touring multiple key projects and policing facilities in Islamabad, reflecting his continued push to improve public services.

As part of the visit, he inspected the Islamabad Model Jail, the Capital Police College, and the Police Khidmat Markaz, and also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ataturk Avenue expansion.

At the Model Jail site, which is nearing completion, he examined the barracks, administrative buildings, and boundary wall to assess the pace and quality of work.

Following his directives, the first phase of the jail would be converted into a high-security facility. He also instructed that all staff designated for the prison must complete their training by April 30 to ensure operational readiness.

Upon reaching the Capital Police College, the minister was received with a ceremonial salute by a disciplined police contingent. During his visit, he handed over two Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles to Islamabad Police to enhance their field capabilities.

He further asked for a detailed proposal to upgrade the college, setting a target to increase its training capacity from 450 to 4,000 personnel.

Stressing the importance of modern policing, he directed that the training curriculum be updated to incorporate emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, information technology, and advanced physical conditioning. 
He also visited ongoing promotional courses for DSPs and Inspectors, where he interacted with officers and discussed their training experience and career progression.

Later, Mohsin Naqvi visited the Police Khidmat Markaz in F-6, observing the functioning of different service counters and engaging with citizens present there. People using the facility shared positive feedback about the services being provided.

He directed authorities to further refine the system, highlighting that transparency and prompt service delivery should remain the core focus of these centers. He reiterated the government’s resolve to keep improving public-facing services at every level.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, FIA Director General Dr. Usman Anwar, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, along with other senior officials, accompanied the interior minister during the visits.
