Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has conveyed sincere felicitations to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and the entire nation on the commemoration of the region’s liberation from Dogra rule, achieved on November 1, 1947.
In his message on Saturday, the prime minister hailed the bravery and patriotism of the people of Gilgit-Baltistan, noting that on that historic day, they demonstrated exceptional unity and devotion to their homeland by overthrowing Dogra control and choosing to align their future with Pakistan.
He said the anniversary is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices and steadfast love for the country that reshaped the destiny of the region.
PM Shehbaz reiterated that the federal government remains devoted to advancing the prosperity and well-being of Gilgit-Baltistan, ensuring a bright and secure future for its younger generation.
He mentioned that ongoing initiatives in sectors such as tourism, energy, infrastructure, and education will serve as significant milestones in the region’s journey toward economic progress and social development.
The prime minister added that every effort will be made to provide the people of Gilgit-Baltistan with opportunities for growth and empowerment so they can play an active role in Pakistan’s national progress.
He further remarked that the day inspires renewed determination to continue the nation’s path of unity and progress with greater enthusiasm and resolve.
PM Shehbaz prayed for lasting peace, development, and prosperity for both Gilgit-Baltistan and Pakistan.
