Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday expressed the resolve to overcome power loadshedding by restoring halted projects.
Addressing a meeting Islamabad to review measures on controlling loadshedding, the premier said that efforts were afoot to make all power plants functional.
"The government is taking every possible step to control the electricity loadshedding to facilitate the consumers," PM Shehbaz said.
The prime minister said that challenges were being faced in energy sector due to bad policies of previous government but we are committed to address them.
The premier regretted that the previous government didn't take this issue seriously and no purchase agreement for gas supply was made when the prices were low in the world.
PM Shehbaz pointed out that the lack of maintenance of power plants during the tenure of the previous government resulted in power shortage.
He said previous government even delayed the Haveli Bahadur Shah Plant which has the capacity to produce1250 Megawatt electricity.
