Several motorways, highways reopened as visibility improves after dense fog

Lahore (Web Desk): Various motorways and highways in the Central Region have been reopened for traffic after visibility improvements were made. These roads were previously closed due to intense fog, which had reduced visibility to dangerous levels, posing a risk to public safety.

Earlier, several sections of the motorways were shut down as a precautionary measure to prevent accidents and protect the lives and property of travelers. The closure was necessary due to the severity of the fog, which made driving hazardous, especially on the high-speed roads like motorways.

A spokesperson for the Motorway Police stated that these closures were implemented to ensure the safety of the public. Fog often creates visibility problems, making it difficult for drivers to see clearly, which increases the chances of accidents. To manage this risk, the authorities decided to close the affected routes temporarily.

The Lahore Eastern Bypass was fully closed due to the heavy fog, while Motorway M3 (which runs from Faizpur to Jaranwala) and Motorway M2 (from Lahore to Hiran Minar) were also closed for traffic. These highways were some of the most affected by the fog, and the closures were deemed necessary to avoid any untoward incidents.

The good news is that after improvements in visibility and the fog clearing, these roads have now been reopened to traffic, making it safer for travelers to resume their journeys.
