Islamabad (Web Desk): Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has once again urged Afghanistan to take decisive action to halt the infiltration of militants from Afghan soil.

Speaking to the media, Khawaja Asif emphasized that the Afghan Taliban should cease supporting groups like Fitna al Khawarij and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He stated that the Afghan government must take responsibility for curtailing this support, whether it is coming from within the government or rogue elements within their ranks.

The Minister also mentioned that the next round of Pak-Afghan dialogue is scheduled for the 6th of next month.

Khawaja Asif further explained that whatever form the final agreement takes, a verification system will be established to monitor its implementation. He noted that this monitoring mechanism will be essential in detecting violations and identifying when intervention from guarantor countries will be necessary.

The Defence Minister also commended Qatar and Turkey for their constructive role in facilitating the negotiations, underscoring that Pakistan considers its relationships with these countries as familial.

Khawaja Asif reiterated Pakistan's desire for peaceful coexistence, but made it clear that bilateral relations cannot fully normalize until terrorism originating from Afghanistan is completely stopped.
