Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Naib Subedar Asif Irfan and Sepoy Irfan Ali of Pakistan Army, who were martyred in an exchange of fire with terrorists in Awaran, Balochistan on October 29, have been laid to rest with full military honour at their native towns, the military's media wing said on Tuesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a large number of Pakistan Army officers, soldiers, relatives and locals attended the funeral prayer of the martyrs.
"The sacrifices of martyrs further strengthened the resolve and morale of Pakistan Army in the ongoing war against terrorism, which will continue till the elimination of last terrorist," the statement said.
On November 29, two soldiers embraced martyrdom during an exchange of fire with terrorists in the general area Khoro, Awaran District of Balochistan on Sunday, the military's media wing said.
The ISPR in a press release, stated the troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location and resulting in two terrorists being killed, while two got injured.
However, during an intense exchange of fire, Naib Subedar Asif Irfan (age 37 years, resident of District Okara) and Sepoy Irfan Ali (age 22 years, resident of District Sargodha) having fought gallantly, embraced ‘Shahadat’.
"The security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve," the ISPR stated.
