COVID-19: Vaccination for registered 18 plus to be scheduled from June 3

Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has announced that the vaccination for registered 18 and above citizens would be scheduled from June 3 (Thursday).

Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar, who also heads the NCOC, announced the development on Monday.

In his message on Twitter, the minister said that with this step the vaccination of all eligible age groups would be carried out. He urged the citizens to start registering as soon as possible.

On May 29, the NCOC announced opening of walk-in vaccinations for citizens aged 30 and above and teachers over 18.

On the other hand, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 921,053 on Monday after 2,117 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

As per the NCOC data, 52,223 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained 4.05%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 20,779 with 43 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 841,241 after another 1,919 virus recoveries were reported.
