Islamabad (Web Desk/Agencies): Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with great religious zeal and fervor across Pakistan today (Monday).
The day dawned with special prayers for the safety, security and prosperity of the country and for the unity of Muslim ummah.
Eid congregations were held at open places, mosques and Eidgahs in all villages, towns and cities of the country.
The Ulema highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Special prayers were offered in the Eid sermons for development and prosperity of the country and liberation of Muslim territories, including Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), and Palestine.
In Islamabad, main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque, where government dignitaries, foreign diplomats besides common people will offer Eid prayer.
Meanwhile, authorities have finalized a security and traffic plan for Eid-ul-Fitr to ensure public safety and smooth traffic flow, the Interior Ministry’s spokesperson told on Sunday.
Over 3,500 police personnel have been deployed across the city, with 18 security checkpoints set up at entry and exit points. A strict zero-tolerance policy has been announced against aerial firing, hooliganism and street crimes.
For traffic management, 500 traffic personnel will be on duty, and special arrangements have been made for tourists traveling to Murree.
The Interior Ministry has urged the citizens to follow traffic rules and cooperate with the police for a safe and peaceful Eid.
In Punjab, Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated today with religious zeal and fervor, like other parts of the country.
In the provincial capital Lahore, day dawned with special prayers for the country, nation and Ummah, after Fajar. Hundreds of Eid congregations were held in province including at mosques, imam bargahs and open places in Lahore. Strict security arrangements were in place to avoid any untoward incident in provincial capital and other cities of Punjab.
Eid-ul-Fitr is being celebrated with religious zeal in Karachi and all other big and small cities of Sindh.
The congregations of Eid prayers were held all over the city in mosques, Eidgah and imambargahs.
On the ocassion, the Sindh Government had made elaborate security arrangements to maintain law and order situation in the province especially in Karachi.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Eid-ul-Fitr congregations were held in Peshawar and all cities and towns of the province.
On this occasion special prayers were offered for security, peace and prosperity of the country, unity of Muslim.
Like rest of the country, Eid-ul-Fitar is being celebrated in Balochistan with religious fervour and zeal today.
In Quetta, several Eid prayer’s congregations were held at open places, parks, Masajid, Imambargahs and Eidgahs. The law enforcement agencies have made effective arrangements to avert any untoward situation on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitar.
Like other parts of the country, Eid-ul-fitr is also being celebrated in Gilgit-Baltistan with traditional zeal and fervor today. Eid congregations were held in all Gilgit, Diamer,and Baltistan divisions all districts where people offered Eid-ul-fitr prayer in Eidghas and mosques. Gilgit administration has made elaborate security arrangements.
Moreover, Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) is also celebrating Eid ul Fitr with great religious enthusiasm and traditional zeal. The festivities commenced with special Fajr prayers in mosques, seeking stability, unity and prosperity for Pakistan, AJK, and the Muslim Ummah.
The prayers focused on the liberation of occupied Muslim territories, including IIOJK and Palestine.
Special Eid congregations were held in all ten districts of AJK, including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Kotli.
