Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Security forces killed 10 Khwarij in various operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on January 30 and 31, the military’s media wing said on Friday.
According to a statement issued by the the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), on reported presence of Khwarij, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the security forces in general area Khulachi, Dera Ismail Khan District.
“During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged the Khwarij location and resultantly, four Khwarij were sent to hell,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, in four separate encounters in North Waziristan District, fire exchange took place between the security forces and Khwarij in general area Datta Khel, Hassan Khel, Ghulam Khan and Mir Ali. Resultantly, six Khwarij were successfully neutralized by own troops.
The military’s media wing said that weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed Khwarij, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas against the security forces as well as killing of innocent civilians.
It added that sanitization operations were being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area.
“Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Friday paid tribute to the security forces for their bravery on eliminating 10 Khawarij terrorists during successful operations in different areas of KP province.
In separate messages, the president and the premier reiterated their resolve to completely eradicate Fitna-ul-Khawarij (terrorism) from the country.
President Zardari said that the security forces are taking action to eradicate the menace of terrorism, whereas the entire nation is united against terrorism.
“Operations against Fitna-ul-Khawarij will continue until terrorism is completely eradicated,” he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also appreciated the security forces for various successful operations against Fitna-ul-Khawarij terrorists in Kolachi, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan districts.
“The entire nation stands with security forces in the fight against terrorists and are resolute to eradicate all forms of terrorism from the country,” the prime minister said.
